ATR Aircraft Lost Contact in Indonesia’s Sulawesi With 11 Poeple Onboard

Durian – Indonesia’s National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) on Saturday, 17 January 2026 confirmed that an aircraft ATR 400, operated by Indonesia Air Transport, has lost contact with ground control tower when en-route from Yogyakarta to Makassar around 1.17pm central Indonesia’s time with 11 people were on board – 8 crew and 3 passengers.

Initial information gathered from AirNav Indonesia, the last position of the aircraft last position is predicted around Leang-leang area in Maros Regency, South Sulawesi. according to the Makassar’s SAR Office Operating Chief Andi Sultan.
