Durian. Singapore Airlines on Tuesday, 21 May confirmed that one passenger was killed and several others are injured onboard one of its flight departing from London to Singapore on 20 May, after the airplane faced severe turbulence.
“Singapore Airlines flight SQ321, operating from London (Heathrow) to Singapore on 20 May 2024, encountered severe turbulence en-route. The aircraft diverted to Banglok and landed at 15.45 local time on 21 May 2024,” the airlines said in its statement at social media X and Facebook.
“We can confirm that there are injuries and one fatality on board the Boeing 777-300ER,” it stated.
There were 211 passengers and 18 crew on board when the accident took place.
The company said that it has been working with local authorities in Thailand to provide necessary medical assistance. Singapore Airlines also has sent a team to Bangkok to provide additional assistance. (***)
