Durian. All people onboard were killed when a light flight, carrying three people, crashed in Serpong, South Tangerang, near Jakarta on Sunday 19 May 2024, on its way from Tanjung Lesung airport in Banten to Pondok Cabe airport.
According to Indonesia’s National Search And Rescue Agency or Basarnas, one victim who was thrown out of the plane and died instantly, while two others were pinched off the wreckage.
By afternoon hours, the rescue team managed to pull out the two bodies from the wreckage and all bodies were taken to a police hospital in Jakarta, according to Desiana Kartika Bahari, head of Jakarta branch of the Basarnas.
Separately, the Transportation Ministry’s Spokesperson Adita Irawati said the cause of the accident will be investigated by the National Committee for Safety Transportation or KNKT.
The Tecnam P2006T airplane is owned by the Indonesia Flying Club. (***)
