Durian. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is expected to announce his new cabinet on Sunday, 20 Oct. 2024 evening.
In the morning hours, President Prabowo was taking oath as the new president of Indonesia, replacing Joko Widodo.
The retired four-star Army general has held a number of bilateral meeting shortly after becoming the president.
“Tonight. God’s willing, (it will be) tonight. The precise time has yet known, but it (the cabinet) will be announced by the president at the presidential palace,” according to Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, deputy House Speaker from Prabowo’s political party of Gerindra to journalist after the president and vice president inaugural ceremony in Jakarta.
He explained that the cabinet members will take oath to begin their services on Monday.
And prior to the inaugural ceremony for president and vice president, President Prabowo had selected a number of candidates for his cabinet.
Some of the candidates were working in Joko Widodo-Ma’ruf Amin administration.
They are including, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and SMEs Minister Eric Thohir.(***)
