Durian. Indonesia President Prabowo Subianto started his first day at office by holding a series of bilateral meetings with state leaders on Sunday, 20 Oct. 2024 at Merdeka Palace.
The series of bilateral meetings started when President Prabowo met Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles and then New Zealand’s Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters as well as British Foreign Minister David Lammy.
After those bilateral meetings, President Prabowo also received Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, PNG’s Prime Minister James Marape, South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, Vanuatu’s Prime Minister Charlot Salwai Tabimasmas, Lao Vice President Pany Yathotou and China’s Vice President Han Zheng.
Those leaders were among 19 state leaders whom attended inaugural ceremony of Indonesia’s new president and vice president at the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) building on Sunday morning.
President Prabowo was accompanied by Sugiono, a politician from his political party of Gerindra. Sugiono is expected to become foreign minister in the next cabinet. (***)
