Durian. At least three individuals have died and another is still missing due to flood that was triggered by heavy rains in Manado municipal in Indonesia’s North Sulawesi province on Jan.22, the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) said.
At least eight districts – Malalayang, Wanea, Sario, Paal Dua, Pikkala, Wenang, Tuminting and Singkil – are affected by the natural disaster.
In many locations, residents experience electricity blackout and unstable telephone connection.
According to BNPB, the level of water of the flood is from 50 to 400 centimeters.
Not only flood, landslides also happened in several locations in the provincial capital.
Weather alert that was issued by the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) stated that North Sulawesi would potentially experience heavy rains with lights and strong winds from Han.20-22.
BMKG forecast the peak of rainy season Indonesia will be until February.
