Durian. Indonesian envoys will travel to the United Kingdom and Switzerland in October to find other sources of candidate covid-19 vaccines, Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said on Oct.12 in Jakarta.
“Together with State-owned Enterprises Minister [Erick Thohir] and team from the Health Ministry, I will depart to London, the United Kingdom, then continue to Bern and Geneva, Switzerland with main purposes of the trip are including to secure commitment from other sources for covid-19 vaccine in the form of bilateral vaccine cooperation,” Minister Marsudi said.
Indonesia is currently cooperating with China and South Korea to develop covid-19 vaccine.
Previously, Oxford in cooperation with AstraZeneca has announced the finding of new candidate vaccine for covid-19 virus.
During the trip, Indonesian delegation will hold meetings and discussions with Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Vaccine Aliance (GAVI) and the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) in COVAX Facilities framework in the context of multilateral cooperation for covid-19 vaccine.
The envoys will hold bilateral meetings with British Foreign Secretary and Secretary of State Dominic Raab, Swiss Vice President Guy Parmelin and several Swiss companies’ officials, Marsudi added.
