Durian. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and entourage have departed from Jakarta’s Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base on Friday, 8 Nov. 2024 for Beijing, China to begin his first official trip overseas.
President Prabowo will also visit the United States after China.
“Today, delegation of the government of Indonesia and I will conduct an overseas trip. Firstly to meet the invitation from Chinese President. Then from Beijing I will fly to Washington DC to meet the invitation of the US President,” President Prabowo said at the Jakarta Air Base prior to his departure.
After visiting the two countries, President Prabowo will attend APEC Summit in Lima, Peru and continue to attend G-20 Summit in Brazil, he said.
“From Brazil, I will fly directly to meet the invitation of the Prime Minister of UK,” the president said.
This is the first overseas trip for President Prabowo after his inauguration on 20 Oct. 2024.
On his way back to Indonesia, President Prabowo is expecting to visit several countries in the Arab Peninsula.
“This is showing that Indonesia is very respected,” he said, adding that Indonesia’s stances are waited by other world leaders regarding global issues.
Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono will accompany President Prabowo for during his first overseas trip. (***)
