Durian. President Joe Biden of the United States will meet President Prabowo Subianto at the White House on Tuesday, 12 Nov. 2024, the White House confirmed on Monday.
President Prabowo will visit the US after his official visit to China, the first official visit overseas after he taking office on 20 Oct. 2024.
“During the visit, President Biden will celebrate the 75th anniversary of U.S.-Indonesian relations and pay tribute to those affected by the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami,” White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement.
The two leaders will also explore ways to strengthen U.S.-Indonesian cooperation as part of our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, according to the statement.
They will coordinate on sustainable approaches to food security, the clean energy transition, democracy and pluralism, regional peace and stability, and people-to-people ties, as well as advancing our cooperation on humanitarian aid and disaster relief, the White House official elaborate.
President Prabowo Subianto has arrived in Washington DC on Monday and was welcomed by Indonesian diaspora. (***)
