Durian. Indonesia has recorded more than one million cases of covid-19 on Jan.26, the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) said.
It’s a cumulative number since Indonesia announced first confirmed case in early March 2020.
There were 28,468 deaths from total of 1,012,350 positive covid-19 cases, BNPB said.
Indonesia, home for about 270 million people according to its population census in 2020, have been conducting national vaccination program that has started since Jan.13 and it’s expected to complete by the end of 2021.
The vaccination program is targeting 180 million people.
To eliminate the transmission of covid-19 virus, particularly on Java and Bali Islands, the government of Indonesia has imposed restriction of people mobilization from Jan.8 to 25 and extended from Jan.26 to Feb.8.
