Durian. Indonesian Defence Ministry in cooperation with Singaporean ST Engineering and Mirage Defence are holding a three-day cyber security training in Jakarta, starting from 5 Feb. 2025, under the theme “Cyber Awareness And Cyber Range Training”.
Around 20 participants from the Indonesian Military (TNI), the Defence Ministry, the Military Intelligence Agency (BAIS) and the Defence University was opened by Secretary to the Strategic Defense Installation Board (Bainstrahan) at Indonesian Defence Ministry Rear Admiral Arif Hanan. He was representing Head of Bainstrahan Maj. Gen. Robi Herbawan.
“This event is organized by the Defence Ministry and the TNI to recognize and respond to cyber threats and attacks that could endanger organizational security,” Rear Admiral Arif Hanan said on behalf of Maj. Gen. Robi Herbawan when giving the keynote speech.
The cyber training is viewed as part of defence strategic, aimed to improve the ability of defence personnel in detection, handling and strengthening cyber security, he said.
In the opening ceremony, the TNI Commander Gen. Agus Subiyanto in his speech, delivered by Brig. Gen. Juinta Omboh Sembiring, viewing cyber threats as the real threats that cannot be ignored.
“Every second, cyber attacks lurk within our database infrastructure. Therefore, collective awareness and technical defence are the backbone of institutional resilience,” said Gen. Agus in a statement read by Brig. Gen. Juinta.
Therefore, he said the cyber security training is planed in order to equip the personnel with cyber defence capability to be ready facing cyber threats in the front line of cyber guards.

Meanwhile, Mirage Defence, a defence consulting, service and distribution, has a pivotal role in the cyber training along with ST Engineering, at the ceremony expressed its gratitude for the collaboration made with the Indonesian Defence Ministry, the TNI, Indonesia’s Defence University and all participants of the training.
“In this digital era, mastering technological advancement is a comparative to ensuring the cyber security ability of the TNI and the defense of Indonesia,” said Mirage Defence’ Director for Business Development in Indonesia Ary Lestari in her remarks.
She hoped such kind of training and cooperation will continue in the future with the government of Indonesia.
Lessons During “Cyber Awareness And Cyber Range Training”
The participants of the training will learn about basic dungeon knowledge and practical skills for cyber security, landscape of cyber threats, risks as well as the importance of a strong cyber defence.
They will also learn about the ability to evaluate, improve and test the TNI’s procedure to handling cyber security incidents in simulation mode. (***)
