Durian. Indonesian and South Korea have reached an agreement to apply essential business corridor that will begin on Aug.17.
The agreement was made on Aug.12 evening in a virtual bilateral meeting between Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi and her South Korean counterpart Kang Kyung-Wha.
“Today, I announce that essential business travel corridor arrangement with South Korea has been agreed and it will be applied on Monday, Aug.17,” Minister Marsudi said in Jakarta on Aug.13.
On July 29, Indonesia has opened its first travel corridor with United Arab Emirates.
Due to covid-19 pandemic, countries across the globe have restricted their borders. Therefore, through bilateral cooperation, arrangements such as travel corridor for essential business needed to ensure health protocol is granted.
“Travel corridor with South Korea is for businessmen who have essential trips, diplomatic and official traveling and it is not cover tourist visit,” Marsudi explained.
Travel corridor is hoped to facilitate various investment and business cooperation between parties of the arrangement which aims to boost economic growth.
