Durian. Indonesia’s national air carrier Garuda Indonesia plans to open its direct flights to Jakarta-Doha-Jakarta by April 4, 2024 as a joint initiative with Qatar Airways of Qatar, aiming to develop tourism sector of both countries.
However, flight tickets for that route can be purchased since Tuesday, February 6, according to Garuda Indonesia in its written statement.
According to Garuda, this new direct flight route is part of efforts to strengthen its network development strategy.
While cooperation between Garuda Indonesia and Qatar Airways will be in the form of codeshare.
Garuda will serve one flight daily for that route, using its Boing 777-300ER that has 393 passenger seats, inlcuding 26 in business class.
The two national air carriers’ cooperation is strengthening bilateral relations between Indonesia and Qatar in various sectors, including tourism and economy.
Qatar Airways has been serving three times flight daily from Doha to Jakarta or Doha to Bali returned and just recently added its new route Doha-Medan returned three times a week. (***)
