Durian. Indonesian Justice and Human Rights Minister Yasonna Laoly on Oct.27 launched electronic visa service through immigration directorate general in order to prevent the spreading of covid-19 virus by minimizing human direct contacts.
Those who want to visit Indonesia can apply visa through website visa-online.imigrasi.go.id and the verification process will take two days, the immigration directorate general said in an official statement on Oct.27.
Visa will be sent directly to applicants though email, therefore, no need to meet immigration officials or Indonesian representatives overseas.
The government of Indonesia hopes that online visa process can send positive signal about progress of bureaucracy reform and its readiness to welcome foreign investments.
The decision is in line with the government efforts for economy recovery through investment acceleration hoping to create new jobs and attract more tourists to come to Indonesia after covid-19 pandemic.
