Durian. The Indonesian government is expecting to have vaccinated 70 percent of its targeting population against Covid-19 virus by the end of 2021, President Joko Widodo said on Oct.19.
The government has started its national vaccination program since January 2021, aiming to vaccinate around 208.2 million people aged 12 and above. The program has been accelerating through various methods in order to create herd immunity which requires 70 percent population should be vaccinated.
To reach 70 percent of vaccination target, door-to-door method will be part of the measures that the government taken, the president said during his official visit in North Kalimantan.
“Vaccinators will visit home by home to serve the people to ease them getting access to vaccine faster,” President Widodo said.
