Durian. Former Jakarta governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, also known as Ahok, was released on Jan.24 morning after serving almost two years in prison for blasphemy against Islam.
He was picked up by his eldest son from a detention in the Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) headquarters in Depok, near Jakarta.
Prior to his release, Ahok wrote a letter which he urged the people to call him BTP as of his name’s initial and not Ahok anymore.
A short video circulated through social media platforms such as WhatsApp showing Ahok and his close family members held a thanks giving service at a house after his release.
