Durian. An Indonesia’s film production SinemArt on Friday, 4 July 2025 launched the official trailer and poster of its new film “Brett Rindu” or Linked Longing (all dreams deserve to be celebrated) that is soon to be shown on cinemas across Indonesia, through a press conference.
During the launching of the official trailer and poster, Jasmine Nadya, an Indonesian singer, sang the original soundtrack of the movie, titled “Seiring” or along that can be heard via all digital platforms.
Besides the performance of the movie’s soundtrack by Jasmine Nadya, the press conference also introduced parties involved in the film production, including Film Producer MGS. Fahri Fahrudin, Script Writer Lintang Pramudya Wardhani, Novelist Tian Topandi, Female Lead Adhisty Zara as Jovanka, Male Lead Ari Irham as Magnus, and others.
The movie was shot in Bandung, Indonesia’s West Java where mixed scenes taken, including river and waterfalls, according to Fahri.
“The process was fast from the discussion with Lintang to find the director, which was obviously our choice instantly for Rako, around four months we have selected the casts. The shooting was conducted during Ramadan (fasting month). Full shooting was in Bandung, there is river, waterfalls,” Fahri said.
Movie “Bertaut Rindu” will be released on 31 July 2025 in all cinemas across Indonesia and it carries the story about relationship between teenagers and their parents in Indonesia’s households based on a novel written by Tian Topandi with the same title.
“This film is not only for teenagers but the message is also for parents,” Rako said.
He explained about the situation during the production which all were done in a very humorous situation while explaining that soft blue nuance of the film is representing youthful, summer during school break, water and tropical.
Meanwhile, Adisty Zara who acts as Jovanka in the film described the character as a brave, ambitious teenage girl who knows how to pursue her ambition and being skeptical to odds things,
She said the character was inline with her own reality where she could tell her parents what she wants to do.
“We have to fight for our dreams,” she said and also thanked to have Ari Irham as the male lead actor due to his pleasant attitude.
“We are good friends and maybe because we are both from Bandung, knowing each other for long time, I do grateful with Ari as my partner this time because to have shooting at 3am, you need a pleasant partner,” she added.
In the same occasion, Ari Irham hope this movie “Bertaut Rindu” could inspire many people as it could.
“I took a lot from this film, (especially) about communication with parents, close friends,” Ari said.
The storyline of the film a bit changed from the novel version, according to Script Writer Lintang.
The film tries to picture many Indonesian parents who force their teenage children to pursue higher education that parents’ want without room for negotiation in many case.
While according to Tian Topandi, through novel Bertaut Rindu she wants to encourage parents not to use children in order to pursue parents’ dreams. (***)
