Durian. All Indonesians will get free vaccination of covid-19 vaccines in 2021, President Joko Widodo announced on Dec.16, saying he to receive it first.
‘’I can say that covid-19 vaccines for all people will be free. Once again, it will be totally free of charge,’’ the president said.
The decision was made after receiving inputs from the people and calculating the state budget, President Widodo explained.
Indonesia has received 1.2 million doses of covid-19 vaccines from China’s pharmaceutical company Sinovac on Dec.6 and the nation expects to get additional 1.8 million doses in January 2021.
‘’Therefore, I have ordered all cabinet members, ministries, agencies and regional governments to prioritize vaccination program included in 2021’s annual budget,’’ former Jakarta governor said.
President Widodo said he has ordered Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati to allocate budget from other posts to ensure the availability of vaccine and for free vaccination.
‘’So, there is no reason for the people to not get the vaccine,’’ he said.
The president will get vaccination of covid-19 vaccine first to ensure that it’s safe for the people.
Indonesia recorded cumulative 636,154 positive cases of covid-19 as of Dec.16 including 19,248 casualties.
