Quick Counts Show Prabowo Wins Indonesia’s Presidential Election

Durian. From at least six pollsters’ quick countsĀ  regarding Indonesia’s 2024 presidential election show Prabowo Subianto and running mate Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the winner.

There are three pair candidates that run Indonesia’s 2024 presidential elections. They are pair number 01 of Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar, pair number 02 of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka dan pair number 3 of Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD.

The pollsters are Charta Politika, Litbang Kompas, , Indonesia’s Survey Institute or LSI, Poltracking Indonesia, Politika Research and Consulting or PRC and Voxpol Center Research & Consulting.

As of 4.58p.m. Jakarta time five of the pollsters exposed over 65 percent of their quick count data, only Voxpop Center Research and Consulting that has data below 50 percent.

The five survey institutes’ quick counts show that Prabowo and Gibran lead the counts by having over 55 percent of votes, followed by Anies and Muhaimin who seized over 20 percent, while Ganjar and Mahfud have over 15 percent.

Over 204 million Indonesians rushed to polling stations to vote for their new president and vice president, legislators and senators. Polling stations opened between 7a.m. and 1p.m. local time. Indonesia has three time zones.

In the Greater Jakarta some polling stations opened for voters late due to torrential rains that poured since early hours until the time of the opening of polling stations, causing floods. (***)
