Durian. Kazakhstan holds its early legislative elections on Sunday to vote for members of the Lower House or Mazhilis and regional legislative representatives or members of Maslikhats.
Over 12 million voters are expected to vote got 98 members of the Lower House – 69 members from political party’s lists and 29 other are in single-mandate territorial constituencies, as explained by Kazbek Bokebayev, counsellor of Kazakhs embassy In Jakarta on Friday in a press conference .
The snap legislative elections take place following last year’s January political unrest left 238 dead.
Seven political parties participate in the election for members of Mazhilis.
There are 10,223 polling stations set in the country for this year parliamentary elections, while 77 polling stations are set abroad including at Kazakhs embassy in Jakarta.
